As a parent we need to make routine structured. Make sure kid will get consistent attention and interactional engagement, so kid can practice what they learn from daily therepeutic intervention. This will absolutely help in designing new path in reinforcing to learn new skills ,making behaviours desirable, improving environmental awareness thus will help in adaption of new environment more easier.
Sometimes if child will not pay attention while carrying activity or any sort of engagement with him, give child a lead to pick pace . You may try to regain his attention by calling his name, using differential techniques of prompting and many other ways to grab or drag attention of kid.
